Our story is best defined by our mission. A mission that was born from truly understanding the future of the meat industry and the quality it demands.
Back in 1984, a man by the name of Daniel Scott bought 200-acres in the southern part of Missouri’s Webster County. He was just 17-years old. Having been raised on a farm, he felt a strong calling to continue the traditions that had served his family so well. So, he went to work.
33-years later, he and his family have turned the family farm into a multi-million-dollar farm partnership. The partners of Valley Mountain Quality Meats have one goal in mind; to provide the local area with sustainable, responsible, high quality beef at an affordable price.
Quality and consistency will always be the most important factors in this industry. The demand for locally grown quality beef that consistently hits the mark on consumer expectations is what really matters most.
To meet those expectations, the team turned to the science of genetics and created the Prime Cut Beef, Legacy Angus-Cross program. They developed a precise combination of genetics, minerals and dietary feed that create the spot-on consistency you find only at Valley Mountain Quality Meats.
It’s now our ongoing mission to continue building this lineup of superior genetics, not only to produce some of the most consistently marbled beef in the world, but also to share these leading genetics with like-minded ranchers.

The beef industry has been wrecked by the massive global markets and packing houses. There was a time when locals fended for themselves. They crafted and created great products for their communities and in doing so, supported the economy on a local level. We think it’s time to bring that spirit back. Valley Mountain Quality Meat is our way of doing that.
We farm and ranch in Webster County, Missouri. We don’t mix breeds of cattle from far away stockyards. This stock is ours and it’s raised in the same place for their entire life. Responsibly. We think that matters. We also think that creating the best product requires proper nutrition from the beginning, not just the final days before harvesting.
We can’t tell you everything we do to create our Prime Cut Beef because the process is our protected secret. We can tell you that we’ve developed something that nobody else has been able to figure out. Our blend of genetics, local grain, minerals and feeding process is like no other in the world. We don’t cut corners. We are providing the Ozarks the best beef they’ve ever eaten, how could we do it any other way?
